Bushfires; this is by far the most talked about aspect of fire protection at present.

It is distressing to take enquiries from end users who are trying to design and build their dream house, who cannot make any sense of the legislation, or who cannot make sense of the council’s requirements, or who cannot find compliant products.

With recent bushfires such as the ACT bushfires, there is increased interest in constructing houses that will be more resilient when faced with a bushfire in close proximity.

The Alliance for fire and smoke containment is trying to become a convenient portal, through its member meetings, working groups, publications, newsletters, and through this www.pfpa.com.au web site, for interested parties to find some relevant information and contacts relating to construction in bushfire prone areas.

Manufacturers can become Alliance members and promote their products in the find a product area of this web site, so that architects, designers and end users can in fact find them.

Consultants can also become Alliance members to promote their services in the find a consultant area of the web site.
