Industry Best Practice Guideline for acceptance of Alternative products to AS3959

The current version of AS3959, the Australian Standard relating to Construction in Bushfire prone areas is a prescriptive standard; that is it nominates acceptable products.

There are however many products that have been developed and that have relevant fire test data that may in fact also be suitable.

This Industry Best Practice is aimed at councils and private certifiers to provide them with an overview of relevant fire test methods and guidance on acceptance criteria which might assist them with approving alternative products.

Technical Guidance Notes

These can and will be developed to assist communicate relevant technical issues relating to specific product types as appropriate.
